Bio

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Hank has been playing the drums since the age of 8, beginning private lessons on the drums and piano at age 10. His high school years were filled with practicing and private study with Arthur Press of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the legendary Alan Dawson. He earned a seat in the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra and percussion ensemble and performed with these groups throughout the Boston area and in France, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, and Yugoslavia (now Croatia). Hank was also selected through national auditions for membership in the Young Artists Orchestra at Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. This summer residency was full of rehearsals, performances, master classes, and private study with members of the BSO.
With an interest in music technology, new sounds, and contemporary music, Hank chose to attend Berklee College of Music where he earned his music degree with a major in Music Synthesis. He later went on to study recording engineering at Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts, working with the leading studio technologies of the time including the revolutionary Synclavier 9600 system - a favorite with high profile artists, producers and big budget film sound designers. Hank's specialized degrees and troubleshooting skills were put to use as a technical support engineer for the first desktop multitrack recording software called "DECK", developed by OSC in San Francisco. He went on to become involved in multimedia development software at Macromedia where he was employed for 10 years.
Hank is now pursuing performance and production projects in the San Francisco Bay Area.
